goAML Application Still Pending? What to Check Before Applying Again

If your goAML application is still pending in the UAE, do not submit a second application immediately. First confirm which registration stage is pending, check the registered email and mobile number, verify the application reference, review the nominated Compliance Officer or MLRO details, and make sure the correct documents and supervisory body were selected. If the request remains pending, follow up using the existing reference number before starting again.

This distinction matters because UAE goAML registration normally involves two separate stages: SACM pre-registration and goAML organisation registration. Completing the first stage does not mean the organisation is fully registered.

Quick Answer: Should You Apply Again While the Application Is Pending?

Usually, no. A pending application has not yet been rejected. The safest practical approach is to trace the existing submission and contact the appropriate authority or technical support before creating a duplicate request.

The UAE Ministry of Economy and Tourism's technical instructions describe resubmission after a Step 1 rejection or Step 2 denial. They do not say that an applicant should start again merely because a request remains pending. This means a fresh application should generally follow an official rejection, revocation or instruction to resubmit—not guesswork.

There is also no guaranteed approval period stated in the official registration instructions. Processing may depend on the accuracy of the application and verification by the relevant supervisory body.

What Does “Pending” Mean in the goAML Registration Process?

Before taking action, identify where the application stopped.

StageWhat happensWhat you should have
Step 1: SACM pre-registrationThe entity requests secure access to the UAE FIU services portal.A submission confirmation and, after approval, the credentials and authentication setup needed to enter the portal.
Step 2: goAML organisation registrationThe applicant registers the reporting organisation within goAML and submits its organisational and supporting details.A registration reference followed by an approval or rejection notice sent to the registered organisation email.

If you received login credentials or configured Google Authenticator but have not received an organisation approval, Step 1 may be complete while Step 2 is still pending. If you never received a reference number or confirmation, check whether the application was actually submitted.

Nine Checks to Complete Before Applying Again

1. Identify the exact pending stage

Do not treat SACM access and organisation approval as the same result. Review the emails received from the UAE FIU and determine whether the message relates to:

  • email verification or an OTP;
  • SACM pre-registration approval;
  • goAML organisation registration;
  • a request for correction or additional information; or
  • final approval or rejection.

This single check prevents applicants from unnecessarily repeating Step 1 when only Step 2 requires attention.

2. Find the submission reference number

An application reference is the clearest evidence that the organisation-registration request was submitted. It should be retained for registration-related enquiries with the regulator or goAML support.

If you have no reference number, review any screenshots, confirmation pages and emails. The absence of a reference may indicate that the request was saved but not fully submitted, the page expired, or the final submission confirmation was missed.

3. Check the inbox, spam folder and email security settings

Approval, rejection and OTP messages are sent electronically. Check the inbox and junk or spam folder of the exact email address entered in the application.

The current SACM registration page asks users to whitelist no-reply.sacm@uaefiu.gov.ae and no-reply.goaml@uaefiu.gov.ae. If the organisation uses a corporate email server, ask the IT administrator to confirm that these messages were not quarantined or blocked.

Never share an OTP, password, security token or Google Authenticator code with a consultant or in an ordinary support email.

4. Confirm the email address and mobile number

Verify that the nominated person's email address and mobile number were typed correctly and remain accessible. The Ministry's instructions state that accurate contact details are required to receive verification codes and that the OTP is valid for 24 hours.

The Ministry also states that the same email address or mobile number cannot be used to register multiple companies. A number linked to the person's previous employer or another company can therefore create an access issue. If a wrong mobile number was submitted, UAE FIU guidance says to contact goAML support so the current request can be revoked before re-registration.

5. Verify the nominated Compliance Officer or MLRO details

For a DNFBP, the nominated Compliance Officer or Money Laundering Reporting Officer should be the authorised user. Check that the individual's name, nationality, identification number, email and mobile number agree with the supporting documents.

The authorisation letter should clearly appoint the nominated person as the relevant administrator and user, include the required company details, and be properly dated and signed by an authorised representative.

If the MLRO has changed, or the individual previously used the same contact details under another organisation, do not create a workaround profile. Follow the formal user-change or deactivation procedure.

6. Check the registration type and supervisory body

An incorrect regulatory selection can send the application through the wrong approval path.

For a reporting entity supervised by the Ministry of Economy and Tourism, the official instructions say to select Reporting Organisation as the registration type and the Ministry of Economy as the supervisory body. However, this selection does not apply to every reporting entity. Businesses supervised by another authority must select the regulator that actually oversees them.

The UAE FIU's FAQ states that the organisation's supervisory body or regulator approves both the SACM pre-registration request and the goAML registration request. A technical support enquiry and a regulatory approval follow-up are therefore not always the same thing.

7. Match company information exactly to the valid trade licence

Compare the application with the current trade licence and correct any variation in:

  • legal entity name;
  • trade licence number;
  • legal form;
  • issuing authority;
  • licensed activities; and
  • licence validity.

Use the legal entity name, not a brand name or shortened trading name. If the licence has been renewed, amended or renamed since the application was filed, keep evidence of the change ready and ask the relevant authority whether the pending request should be updated, revoked or resubmitted.

8. Recheck the supporting PDF

For Ministry-supervised DNFBPs, the published technical checklist requires a valid trade licence, authorisation letter, passport, UAE residence visa and Emirates ID for the nominated person. The documents should be combined into one PDF with a total size below 5 MB.

Before resubmitting, check that:

  • every document is readable and complete;
  • the trade licence and identity documents are valid;
  • the passport details page is clear;
  • the front and back of the Emirates ID are included;
  • the visa copy is included where applicable;
  • the authorisation letter is signed and dated;
  • the filename is short, in English and has no unusual special characters; and
  • the PDF opens correctly after compression.

Do not reduce the file size so aggressively that names, numbers or expiry dates become unreadable.

9. Confirm that the documents were uploaded—not only selected

Selecting a file is not always the final upload action. The Ministry's technical instructions tell applicants to click Upload and then confirm OK before submitting. If that step is missed, the form may be submitted without the intended evidence.

Also be aware that the registration page can expire after a period of inactivity. Prepare all information and the final PDF before beginning the form so the submission can be completed without a timeout.

When Should You Reapply?

Use the status—not the waiting period—to decide what to do next.

How to Follow Up on a Pending goAML Application

For a technical problem, the Ministry's registration page directs users to goAML@uaefiu.gov.ae. For an approval-status issue, the relevant supervisory body may also need to be contacted because the regulator approves the registration requests.

A clear follow-up should include:

  • the company's exact legal name;
  • trade licence number and issuing authority;
  • relevant supervisory body;
  • whether the issue concerns Step 1 or Step 2;
  • submission date;
  • application reference number;
  • nominated Compliance Officer or MLRO's full name;
  • registered email address and mobile number;
  • a screenshot of the status or error, if relevant; and
  • a short description of the assistance required.

Do not attach unrelated customer information, transaction records or confidential AML reports to a registration-status enquiry.

Common Actions That Can Make the Problem Worse

Avoid the following:

  • submitting repeated applications with different contact details;
  • using another person's email or mobile number to bypass an existing record;
  • registering the organisation as a person;
  • repeating SACM pre-registration after it has already been approved;
  • uploading expired or inconsistent documents;
  • selecting the Ministry of Economy automatically when another regulator supervises the entity; or
  • assuming that access credentials mean the organisation registration is complete.

These actions can create conflicting records and make it harder to identify the valid application.

Registration Approval Is Only the Beginning

The Ministry's March 2026 DNFBP guidance states that DNFBPs must register on goAML and maintain the registration in active status, with the company's Compliance Officer registered as the system user. Registration enables access to the reporting channel, but it is not a substitute for a complete AML/CFT/CPF compliance framework.

After approval, the business should keep its MLRO and contact details current, maintain risk-based policies and procedures, train relevant staff, conduct customer due diligence, retain required records, screen applicable sanctions lists, and be ready to file the relevant reports without delay when the legal threshold for reporting is met.

Need Help Reviewing a Pending Application?

goAML UAE can review the stage reached, supporting documents, nominated-person details and data consistency, and can help prepare a clear follow-up or corrected application. No private consultant can guarantee the approval date or influence the decision of the UAE FIU or the relevant supervisory body.

Transparency notice: goAML UAE is an independent AML consultancy and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or officially connected to the UAE Financial Intelligence Unit, the goAML system, the Ministry of Economy and Tourism or any other UAE government authority.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. How long does goAML registration approval take in the UAE?

The official registration instructions do not publish a guaranteed approval time. The request must be authenticated and verified by the relevant supervisory body. If the application remains pending, check the registered email and spam folder, locate the reference number and send a structured follow-up instead of submitting a duplicate request.

2. Can I submit another goAML application while the first is pending?

You should not reapply merely because the first application is pending. Official guidance describes resubmission after rejection or denial. First identify the pending stage and follow up using the existing reference. Reapply only after correcting the stated issue or when the regulator or goAML support instructs you to do so.

3. How can I check my goAML application status?

Check the email address used for registration, including spam and quarantine folders, and review your SACM or goAML access for the relevant stage. Keep the application reference available. For a technical issue, contact goAML support; for an approval query, contact the supervisory body responsible for the organisation.

4. Why did I not receive the goAML OTP or approval email?

The email address or mobile number may be incorrect, the message may be in spam, or the organisation's email security may have blocked it. Whitelist the official SACM and goAML sender addresses. If the wrong mobile number was registered, ask goAML support to revoke the request before trying again.

5. Can I use the same email address or mobile number for two companies?

The Ministry's technical instructions state that multiple companies cannot be registered using the same email address or mobile number. Use valid contact details for the nominated person that are not already tied to another company, and resolve any previous registration link through the proper support or regulator process.
